Londoners called on to get behind £41m cycle budget increase

LCC urges voters to write to Assembly members to back the funding boost
Publish date:

Next week the London Assembly will make its final vote on whether to back a £41million increase in the capital's cycle budget.

Preliminary votes have seen the majority of the Assembly back the call for Boris Johnson to increase his cycle budget for next year by 40 per cent, but the deciding factor is the vote next week.

The London Cycling Campaign (LCC) is calling on Londoners – and London-based members of the cycle industry – to write to their Assembly Members to ensure they vote in favour of the increase.

The LLC has a handy letter writing tool to speed the process up.

"We know many Assembly Members are undecided, so it's crucial you take a moment to write, urging them to vote for the £41 million," said LCC chief executive Ashok Sinha. "Thanks for taking action today – together we can make our city a better place."
