Site 'aims to become the home of cycle racing on the web for young riders'
Publish date:

A new website dedicated to youth cycling has been launched at youthcyclesport.co.uk, with day-to-day editorial managed by owner Mark Fraser.

The new website covers all disciplines of the sport including road racing, track, mountain biking, BMX, cyclocross, and triathlon – anything that involves kids racing on bikes. It also promotes cycling for fun and fitness, cycle touring, learning to ride, and road safety.

YCS Editor Mark Fraser said “There’s a huge, rapidly growing interest in cycle racing from children inspired by so much recent British elite success.”

There are now more than 12,000 members of British Cycling aged under 18 and that figure is growing at 30 per cent per year.

Fraser continued: “Many children and their parents are completely new to cycling, and there’s little help available for them to get to grips with what can be a technical, confusing sport. Youth Cycle Sport was conceived to directly address that.”

Youth Cycle Sport will provide features, advice, product reviews, and interviews to help everyone from 7-year-old beginners right through to elite, national level riders.
