Memory Map's collaborative digital mapping product, produced alongside Sustrans, will be available from Madison as of Monday.

The product, first shown at this year's IceBike, offers the entire National Cycle Network in a downloadable digital format.

The collaboration has resulted in a CD product, which uses Memory-Map’s award winning V5 software to enable cyclists to plan and plot routes either to print off or download to a GPS device.

New users will be able to use the 1:250,000 route planner base map, included on the product. Existing Memory-Map users will be able to export the network as an overlay to their existing V5 maps making it the ideal planning tool for all kinds of riding.

The National Cycle Network has been painstakingly developed by Sustrans, the UK’s leading sustainable transport charity, over a number of years and consists of 12,000 miles of traffic free or traffic calmed areas. The network provides an ideal infrastructure for finding safe and peaceful rides, whether the journey be for pleasure, a commute to work or just finding the fastest and safest route to school.

Commenting on the new product, Memory-Map’s managing director, Ray Badminton said: “This product is an absolute no brainer for us. We’ve worked hard with Sustrans to bring it to market in time for spring and will be an ideal planning tool for any cyclist heading out this summer. We know existing Memory-Map users will be thrilled with the new product and we hope that it will help bring the joys of digital mapping to many new cyclists of all descriptions.”

Julian Hunt, Sustrans information and trading manager, said: “This software will attract a whole new audience to the National Cycle Network. It will provide a simple to use digital guide for cyclists on either long-distance rides or just show people how to find shortcuts to the shops, school or work which will make it quicker and easier to making the same journey by car.”

Orders are now being taken for the product from Madison. For more information on the product visit www.memory-map.co.uk.
