Memory Map now found in iPhone’s app store

The much anticipated Memory-Map iPhone App has been launched and has already made it into the top ten paid for navigation Apps.

Memory Map’s App comes stacked with a host of maps including Ordnance Survey Explorer 1:25,000 and Landranger 1:50,000 and European maps from France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Once the App is downloaded and registered users have the choice of downloading maps for their specific areas, making it an incredibly cost effective way to buy topographic maps for the iPhone.

Once live, the App links to the iPhone’s GPS to give real time positioning on fast scrollling maps, even while offline. The trip computer records speed, average speed, distance and travel/moving time. Compass bearing is also shown from iPhone 3GS sensor. Users can also upload routes and waypoints and email GPX routes and tracklogs directly from their iPhones.

Any of the current 250,000 Memory-Map users can also transfer their existing V5 maps onto their iPhone via WiFi to be used in the App, which can include Ordnance Survey topo maps, historical maps, aviation charts,, marine charts and a host of European and worldwide territories.

At £19.99, the package offers Memory Map’s software, as well as the following:
