San Fran messenger bag company to open its first international store, sharing with bike builder 14 Bike Co. in former brewery

Mission Workshop to open in London

Mission Workshop of San Francisco is launching its first international store in London on 12th August.

The store will be sharing a roof with hand-made bike builders, 14 Bike Co. located in Old Truman Brewery. The shop will carry Mission Workshop’s complete product line of expandable backpacks, messenger bags and their new urban cycling shoe.

Co-founder Bart Kyzak said: “We felt the time was right to set up shop in London. Over the last 15 years we have been fortunate to be part of a larger network of cycling enthusiasts from around the world. London is known for having a thriving bike community with passionate riders, we love being part of the scene, it was a natural transition for us and it felt right.”

The team behind Mission Workshop includes the founders of urban cycling brand Chrome.

An SPD-compatible sneaker has just been added to Mission Workshop’s product range.

Mission Workshop’s The Vandal is a storm-proof backpack.

Kyzar said: “Most people prefer as small of a pack as possible but regularly need extra carrying capacity. Even with a full load, the Vandal can expand to accommodate an additional bag of groceries or a case of your favourite brew. It easily turns from 1400 cubic inches into 4000 cubic inches on the fly.”

Mission Workshop products are made in the US.

The new base in London will act as a warehouse and distribution hub for Mission Workshop resellers in Europe.
