The Northwest Regional Development Agency has revealed plans for a new mountain bike course – part of a £3.8 million regeneration project for the Waterdale and Drinkwater area of Prestwich.

According to this report from the Manchester Evening News, 73 hectares of industrial wasteland will be transformed into community woodland, with 13.7 km of cycle and footpaths, and a proposed mountain bike course.

Bury council is researching whether there is demand for a course, and should the feasibility study be positive the course could be open within two years.
