Here's Madison's press release:

Madison not to attend NEC Show

Madison have today announced their decision not to attend the Cycle Leisure

Show. Terry Bowles, CEO of Madison stated "the disappointment of not being

able to unite the industry and get all the major distributors to support a

trade event continues to be a frustration to us." It is for this reason

Madison have chosen to withdraw their support for David Hyde's event.

Over the years they have been continually disappointed to see fewer

suppliers choosing to attend the NEC. Madison have decided the expense and

time commitment has exceeded the value they and their dealers gain from the

show. This, added to the fact that some suppliers have not shown the

necessary commitment regarding stand design and presentation, has left show

visitors disappointed and let down.

"Our decision to support show events is directly influenced by what we

believe is in our customers best interest", adds Bill Baxter, Sales

Following this decision Madison have hinted at a totally new concept

regarding their expo strategy. They plan to stage their own dealer focused

show in February, which will incorporate many different ideas previously

unexplored by 'traditional' expos.
