Storck bikes will now be distributed in the UK by Vielo Sports after the father and son team of Ian and Trevor Hughes secured the UK distribition for Lightweight wheels meaning Storck Raddar UK would no longer be an appropriate company name.
Lightweight currently has 25 dealers in the UK, formerly serviced by Lightweight employee Chris Hewings, and Vielo Sports will be looking to expand that.
"At the moment we don’t have any other plans for taking on other brands," said Trevor Hughes. "We’re focused on working with our two brands closely, and supporting our dealer network.
Ian Hughes said: “We are delighted to add Lightweight to our company. There is a great opportunity to develop and build the Lightweight brand in the UK. We never set out to have a huge portfolio of brands to distribute, but Lightweight sits perfectly with our business style and philosophy.”
Erhard Wissler, president of the Wissler Group which manufacture Lightweight wheels, said “I was very impressed with Ian’s experience and history regarding brand building and high-end brands. Vielo Sports is the right partner to hand over the responsibility for representing and selling Lightweight in the UK market.”
