Berkeley nutrition experts GU Energy have introduced a new flavour to its energy gel catalogue in the form of a Salted Caramel blend.

Designed to deliver an optimal blend of carbohydrates, GU’s proprietary amino blend and a serving of vitamins C and E, the gel also delivers all the electrolytes and sodium needed to ensure the rider’s not lacking in replacement nutrients.

Salted Caramel will be sold exclusively as an eight-pack, and its savoury profile is projected to become a favourite for holidays as well as hot summer days when electrolyte needs are highest.

The sachets also deliver a 20mg serving of caffeine, unless otherwise stated. Double caffeine recipes are also available from GU for the athlete who really needs a boost.

Got a customer that doesn’t enjoy gels? Have them sample GU’s new Chomps, which contain much the same content as the gels, but in a chewable cube.

Plenty of new gear to be shown come Eurobike by Scottish clothing label Endura. Perhaps most interesting of all, casual items such as shirts and jeans designed with technical features join the range. Look out for a CoolMax Merino L/S Jersey and Polo Shirt.

That’s not to say the technical garments aren’t worth a look too, though. The Equipe Infiniti CB Bibshorts are designed with the minimum number of seams necessary to create a ‘barely there’ sensation. The Infiniti CB bibshort is constructed from only three panels, with the legs each being sculpted from a single panel of Italian Power Lycra featuring coldblack technology and the upper cut from a solitary panel of stretch mesh.

New off-road suited garments join the range to, most notably the extended Singletrack line, which features new hot-climate items and body armour. In keeping with the more casual approach, there’s also a Singletrack Lite Tee for a more casual look on the trail.
