Want a hobby horse image? Or a 1950s gent on a roadster? Or CS Rolls, the car-maker, on a bike with a massive chainwheel? Or 'the world's lightest bike,' circa 1934? Or a poster advertising tyres from the 1920s?

Click through to http://www.scienceandsocietyprints.com/ and search on 'bicycle'.

Here you can view, select and purchase your own image prints in a range of finishes, formats and paper sizes to suit your own particular needs. Your chosen poster or picture will then be printed - with long-life inks - and posted.

The Science & Society Picture Library has images from the Science Museum, the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television, and the National Railway Museum.

The SSPL's photos are printed by CreateOnline Ltd. of Bletchley Park, near Milton Keynes.

There are all sorts of great cycle-related shots, including some cheesy ones of Sir Jimmy Saville and some steam-driven bicycles but the best one is the 'cyclist of the future' from 1933. This is a black and white photograph of a socialite in a silver suit standing next to her 'wireless' bicycle, a bike complete with telephone. To find this image type 'Hercules' into the search box.
