The eighth generation of Pinarello's Dogma – to be ridden by Team Sky at the Tour de France – has been part-designed by Jaguar. Jaguar is car sponsor of Team Sky.

The Dogma F8 was a colloboration between Pinarello, Team Sky and Jaguar. The bike was tested in Jaguar's wind tunnel and designed with the company's computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software.

Pinarello of Italy claims the majority British-designed bike 12 percent stiffer, and 47 percent more aerodynamic than the previous model, the bike which won last year's Tour de France.

The bike will debut at the Critérium du Dauphiné. There's a hi-res pic here.

Mark Cameron of Jaguar said: “We are delighted to be able to deepen our relationship with Team Sky and Pinarello using our technical know how to provide tangible improvements. Our partnership is underpinned by the shared values of performance, innovation and technology."

Chris Froome said: "The first thing I realised with the Dogma F8 is that just holding it you can feel immediately that the weight is a huge factor. They’ve managed to get the weight right down, which for us is fantastic. Getting on the bike and trying it for the first time and taking it around a few corners, you can really feel the rigidity. When you push into the pedals the power goes straight through the bike. It doesn’t flex and it doesn’t move. Whatever power you put into the pedals, it goes onto the road."
