Trek has revealed a new women's endurance road line, dubbed the Silque, which the brand says are built around frames tuned specifically to meet the power and weight requirements of the more athletic female rider.

"There was a great opportunity to improve the overall ride quality and performance of women's road bikes with the new Silque”, said Trek Women’s Product Manager Amanda Shulze. “Research from professional training data shows that men and women have very different power and weight requirements when comparing riders who ride the same frame size. With that ride comparison data, we were able to design and dial in size specific women's ride-tuned frames to deliver the perfect balance of smoothness and power."

Each bike is equipped with the World Tour-proven Isospeed decoupler, vastly boosting vertical compliance and improving overall performance. With months of testing behind the frame and various geometries, Trek believes it has settled on a formula that gives maximum power output per pedalstroke.

Compared to previous generations of WSD geometry, Silque frames feature a shorter seat tube for more standover, slightly more stack, and a longer wheelbase, giving it the stability of Trek’s popular endurance line Domane, while retaining the lively ride qualities of Trek’s aero road line, Madone.

Four Silque models are available now through Trek’s global retailer network. These are the Silque (£1,500), Silque SL (£2,250), Silque SLX (£3,000) and Silque SSL (Project One build at £4,700+). Sizes range 44 to 56cm.
