Nearly 600 entrants already confirmed to take part in the event

New sponsors confirmed for this year’s Scottish Bike Show Sportive

Alpine Bikes and Honeystinger have both been confirmed as new sponsors for the Scottish Bike Show Sportive 2012.

They will be providing much needed refreshments on four separate food stations throughout the course. The Bikestation’s "Dr Bike" will also be on hand throughout the day providing any mechanical assistance on route. Along with these new sponsors, Cyclesport.org was recently confirmed as the official Sportive Media Partner, Purple Harry Cleaning Products as a key sponsor, and The Prostate Cancer Charity will be the official charity partner of the sportive.

Nearly 600 entrants to date will be pitting their endurance around the shores of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park on April 15th 2012. Two rides are in contention to start the British mass participation Sportive calendar, consisting of 100 and 65 miles.

Entries to the Scottish Bike Show Sportive are open to all cyclists aged 17 and over and start at £22.50 for the Challenge Ride and £26.50 for the Sportive Ride with discounts available for group bookings. James McCallum, the Commonwealth Games medal-winning cyclist who rides for the Rapha-Condor-Sharp pro cycling team, took time out from his rigorous training schedule to recce the course for the event. "The Scottish Bike Show Sportive course is absolutely sensational and rivals any other on the British calendar. There is great variety and it has incredible views of some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery,” said McCallum.
