Pink Floyd is re-forming at Live8 tomorrow. Time then for a Pink Floyd press release from X-Lite. It's all about cars, really, but any excuse for a name drop, hey? And, no, X-Lite didn't get any Live8 tickets...

Nick Mason waxes £450k car with pink fluid from bike company

Here’s the press release. But surely headline could have read: Shine on you crazy diamond….

MUC-OFF JOIN NICK MASON AT GOODWOOD TO LAUNCH NEW PRODUCT!

If you’re a fan of classic cars, you’ll no doubt be aware of the awesome collection belonging to Nick Mason. Although perhaps most widely recognised as the drummer with legendary rock band Pink Floyd, Nick’s first love has always been cars and he now has a collection so large that he has to keep it (or at least part of it) in an aircraft hangar! He counts among his favourites a Ferrari 250GTO and the 1960 Maserati Birdcage but each of his cars clearly holds a special place in his heart. It was therefore an honour to be asked to join him and his pit crew for this year’s Goodwood event where the Muc-Off team ensured that his Bugatti T35, March 86C Indy Car and Ferrari BBLM (formerly owned by Pink Floyd manager Steve O’Rourke) were looking their mouth-watering best. Nick is a long time fan of the Muc-Off brand and who better to endorse our new product, MIRACLE SHINE!

Fresh from the Muc-Off Research & Development lab, this brand new product is an all in one polish & protectant (available for use on Cars, Motorcycles, Caravans and Boats) and has been specifically engineered to provide a deep luxurious shine that will endure the elements. The unique Muc-Off Formula contains a number of highly advanced ingredients (including Fluoro Polymers and a blend of 3 different waxes) that combine to produce outstanding results with minimal effort. Prior to the Goodwood event, Nick invited us to his hangar where we were lucky enough to do our first official product tests on his Ferrari Enzo. It’s not every day you’re let loose on a car worth £450,000 but we managed to maintain our composure and only fired off about 400 photgraphs! This project further enforces the Muc-Off cross-marketing strategy which is aimed at growing brand awareness across a range of different markets.

Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to get tickets for the Live 8 concert where Nick will be staging a reunion gig with fellow Pink Floyd band members on Saturday but we’ll definitely be tuning and cheering him on!
