Planning permission being sought for the new trail centre, set in Ilfracombe

North Devon to get its own mountain bike centre?

Ilfracombe, North Devon, could be the setting for a new MTB trail centre, according to the North Devon Gazette.

Touted as North Devon’s first MTB trail centre, the proposal is subject to planning approval and will include a network of trails and runs at Keypitts Stables ‘n’ Quads.

Keypitts has been a centre for horse riding, off road driving and quad bikes for over a decade but, says the report, poor summers and lower visitor numbers has seen the owners look to diversify the business.

Three miles from the North Devon coast, Keypitts Farm originally moved into quad biking after fears of a decline in UK farming.

The farm has 200 acres of wooded and pasture land, with brooks and ponds. There’s already a snack bar and changing facilities in place.
