Norris chairs the National Cycling Strategy (NCS) Board which is responsible for promoting Strategy targets and cycling in general.

He was a member of the Conservative government that created the NCS which aims to quadruple the number of cycling trips from a 1996 base by 2012. The Labour government endorsed the Strategy in its Ten Year Transport Plan in 2000.

West Kent District Association of CTC will host this year's Annual Dinner, which is held in a different part of the country each year.

The Dinner takes place on Saturday May 11th at the Crofton Halls, York Rise, Orpington and follows CTC's AGM, at the same venue earlier in the day.

Tickets for the Dinner cost £19.50 for a three course meal.

Accommodation will be available at The Mary Rose Hotel in St Mary's Cray. Anyone booking hotel rooms through CTC will be eligible for a ten per cent discount. West Kent DA will lead a ride on the Sunday morning which will be open to all.

For tickets call Della McGavin at CTC on 01483 520737 or email della.mcgavin@ctc.org.uk.

PS

Steven Norris wasn't known as Nosher at all. It was something a tad more impolite and had much to do with his success at gaining the attentions of the opposite sex.
