Both the velodrome and BMX track used for the London 2012 Olympic Games will re-open to the public on March 4th, according to the BBC.

Now to be known as the Lee Valley Velopark, the venues will initially charge the public £4 per session, or £2 for club cyclists.

The BMX circuit has been remodelled and now features a new mountain bike trail alongside, as well as a floodlit road circuit.

Olympic stars such as Bradley Wiggins, Sarah Storey and Laura Trott will be present at the velodrome once again on March 14th and 15th when the grand finale of the Revolution series takes place.

Both sites will now be run by the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority. Chief executive, Shaun Dawson, is keen to emphasise that the facilities are as much for children as athletes.

He said: "For people who have never ridden a bike, to those who are setting world records, these unparalleled facilities will deliver the Olympic promise of inspiring a generation."

The venue will also be part of the UK's bid to host the 2016 UCI Track World Championships.
