OORR of Oz seeks distributors for jersey made from plastic bottles

OORR – Out Of the Rat Race – of Australia has produced a premium road jersey made from recycled plastic bottles, and is seeking international distribution.

Director Tim Christian said: ”Without sacrificing quality, we are producing premium technical apparel using recycled materials. We are giving consumers a clear choice at the checkout – do they want a premium jersey, or a premium jersey that’s green?"

The OORR jersey is made from a wickable fabric with odour-eating nanoparticles which sprang from research on a frog species that lives in bacterially-infested water with no ill-effects. These nanoparticles are not chemical in nature, are safe for people and the environment, and unlike silver, stay permanently bound to the fabric. Christian said the nanoparticles are also more effective at banishing odour than silver.

Under development for 2016 are mens’ and womens’ summer jerseys and shorts, socks, caps, and arm and leg warmers. The 2016 range will feature a new proprietary fabric, which will also be “green”.
