Manufacturing and assembly plant now open

Orbea expands with 8000m2 facility in Portugal

Orbea has expanded its production capabilities with the opening of an 8,000m2 state of the art manufacture and assembly facility in Portugal.

The Mallabia plant further boosts the brand’s customisation capabilities, with the addition of new paint and component departments.

Likewise, the firm are giving a boost to its logistics and soft good development platform in Hong Kong, as well as investing in the modernization of the logistics facility in the USA.

As part of this systems overhaul, Orbea has decided to stop manufacturing in its plant in Kunshan as from 30th of June 2015.

Damian Hackett of Orbea UK explained: "This decision has nothing to do with our business activity in the Chinese market, where we are planning to make significant changes for a stronger presence.

"All this restructuring is expected to improve service and make us more competitive as we focus on the traditional pillars of our business: European manufacturing, flexibility, customization and efficient service."
