Go Outdoors, the Outdoor Industries Association, has launched a new development and training service in conjunction with PFA International, a supplier of retail-specific programmes and consultancy. The programme will commence with training workshops to be held alongside the association’s Go Outdoors trade show at Harrogate in September.

Outdoor trade show will feature visual merchandising seminars

“This is an exciting development and follows pilot programmes we organised

successfully for retailers in Scotland last year,” said Go Outdoors marketing

director Andrew Maxted.

“We are aiming to offer a series of learning programmes for managers and sales people in the outdoors sector and the Harrogate workshops will be followed by other initiatives later in the year.”

PFA International is an independent consultancy concentrating on business

and personnel development solutions. Founded by managing partner, Peter

Fleming, PFA have ten associates enabling most learning needs to be

satisfied.

Most of the PFA courses will not be terribly relevant to IBDs but the workshops at the Go Outdoors trade show in Harrogate (the show formerly known as COLA) could prove useful.

Impact from Visual Merchandising & Display will take place on Monday 23 September. The second workshop, Retain & Win More Customers! to be held on Tuesday 24 September, will focus on the challenge of managing customer service.
