Firm ups ecologically sound credentials

Oxford goes green

Manufacturer Oxford Products is doing its bit for the environment with a range of measures, including battling CO2 emissions with a new fleet of fuel-efficient vehicles.

Oxford is replacing its entire fleet of less efficient VW Tourans with VW Blue Motion Passats – saving approximately 2,000 litres of diesel every year. The Tourans boast 57.6mpg on the combines cycle and just 129g of CO2.

The firm’s commitment to good environmental practice has seen the company look to replace its lighting system with reactive lighting – which only comes on when a person is present and switches off when they leave. Oxford Product’s 45,000 sq ft building also boasts comprehensive recycling facilities, while MD Andrew Hammond and FD Mark Wallbutton now cycle to work to boost the firms green credentials.

MD Andrew Hammond said: “Cycles can play a part in cleaning up the world and so can we. Green is good for life and good for business – every pound saved can go into making our products better and our company stronger.”

Oxford has offered to provide a tour of its green premises and presentation of its growing product range – contact the firm on 01993 862300 (or via www.oxprod.com) to find out more.
