After 12 years celebrating and recognising the dedication and commitment of individuals and groups for their efforts to get more Australians cycling, the Cycling Promotion Fund Awards are going global.

Two new international awards – Leadership and First Nations – will be launched under the banner ‘Cycling Luminaries Awards’. 

The Cycling Luminaries Awards will showcase achievements to a global audience. International category winners will be recognised at an awards ceremony at Velo-City Global 2014 to be held in Adelaide in May.

Peter Bourke, general manager of the Cycling promotion Fund, said: “These will be the premier awards globally for cycling advocacy in 2014."

The award nominations are open to any individual, group, business, event, organisation or school that has achievement significant change and inspired or influenced others.

The closing date is Thursday 13th March.
