Cyclehoop of London has designed and installed a 350-space bike park under cover within Paddington rail station. Accessed via platform nine the bike park features Cyclehoop's integrated bike repair stand and a public bike pump.

Paddington station is a listed building so two-tier cycle parking could not be installed. The new design had to be approved by Westminster Council as well as Network Rail. Installation had to be undertaken outside normal hours and within four days.

The park uses guardrail and barriers which cannot be used by cyclists to lock their bikes.

Nick Hartnell, station manager of Paddington Station, said:

“Before the new cycle racks were installed we had a lot of complaints from cyclists about the cycle parking. As the station is a grade one listed building there were many restrictions on what we could do. Cyclehoop listened intently to our problems and presented us with various creative designs. The installation was a dream and we are thrilled with the new cycle racks."
