Bike shop owner - and former 'Shimano-man' - is hospitalised after road bike smash

Peter Harrison crashes in Spain

Peter Harrison, 64, is organiser of the Northern Rock Cyclone, and this year’s National Elite Road Racing Championships, and co-owner of Cyclelogical in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Currently on a road bike training camp holiday in Spain, he crashed when group riding and landed himself in hospital. There were no cars involved in the crash.

Harrison has had a number of jobs in the bike trade including being ‘Shimano-man’, a technical position with Madison in the late 1990s. He has also worked for the Aylesbury Training Group.

A keen and active roadie, Harrison manages the Gosforth Road Club.

He is currently immobile in a Spanish hospital with a broken collarbone, broken ribs, and a broken hip.
