Phil Liggett will train with Tacx I-magic

The race commentator will be keeping fit in the winter months thanks to sponsorship from Fishers Outdoor Leisure and Condors of London. Liggett tried out the Tacx I-magic 'virtual reality' trainers at Cycle 2002, and was hooked.

"The i-magic breaks up the monotony of using a turbo trainer," said Liggett.

The CTC president, a Trek and Bike Friday rider, collected two I-magic packages last week (the other set is for his wife).

The photo above shows Liggett with Tim Bayley, a product manager at Fishers Outdoor, UK distributor of Tacx.

The I-magic system was released last year and has now been updated with new Catalyst software which enables the rider to pre-program their training sessions into graphical representations, and new Analyser software which gives the rider the details of cadence, heart rate and power used.

Carl Eady, marketing manager at Fisher Outdoor, said: "Sales of the I-magic have exceeded all expectations this year. We now have 42 Tacx Super Dealers around the country all dedicating a significant amount of shop floor space to the product."
