Polar Bottle thinned

The insulated sports water bottle - first created in 1994 – is easier to squeeze because of wall thinning, but drink stays cool.

Product Architects, Inc. of Boulder, Colorado, manufacturer of the Polar Bottle, has modified the design of its insulated water bottles to improve their squeezability.

The patented Polar Bottle features an insulating layer between two walls of plastic. The company has redesigned the bottle’s grip shape and thinned the walls. The inner plastic layer is now 13 percent thinner and the outer layer is reduced by 15 percent.

Judy Amabile, president of Product Architects said “When people said our bottles could be easier to squeeze, we listened and made these design enhancements."

The design changes resulted in lighter, brighter, more squeezable bottles without sacrificing insulating power. The Polar Bottle still keeps liquids cool twice as long as regular water bottles.

BPA- and Phthalate-free, the US-made Polar Bottle fits standard bike water bottle cages and is the official bottle of Race Across America.

The company has added eight new graphic patterns, designed by artist Grason Ratowsky. In the coming months, Polar Bottle is to introduce a new line of stainless steel and hard plastic bottles.
