PressCamp: Lazer moves into optics

Lazer Sports has created a ‘vision division’ to launch a range of sports glasses. The company is previewing the line-up at PressCamp in Utah, although the full and final line-up won’t be revealed until Eurobike. We weren’t allowed to photograph the prototype of a arm-less pair of sunglasses which attach via magnets on the helmet straps, an idea brought over from Lazer’s magnet chin clasp.

A video shot at PressCamp shows two new retention devices, including one which is said to reduced rotational injuries, i.e. when a head twists upon impact with, say, the ground.

Lazer is also at PressCamp with a charity special edition of its new BMX potty-style lid, the Armor.

The special edition has a ‘Support Japan’ graphic with a portion of the proceeds from the sale of helmet going towards the International Red Cross disaster relief effort.
