Procycling mag to produce German-language edition

The five-year old UK-based mag, now part of the Highbury empire, after Cabal was swallowed by the "fastest growing independent publisher" last year, is already distributed internationally and has a strong following in the US. It was the best-selling international sports title in Barnes and Noble's US stores in October last year. The German edition starts with the February issue.

"I'm thrilled that we're launching Procycling into the German market," said Procycling's international editor, Jeremy Whittle.

"Bede-Verlag, our colleagues in Germany, have put together a young, dynamic and expert team and the new edition is already attracting huge support from the key players in the European market. We are very optimistic for the further success of the magazine in this new domain.

"The idea of the magazine was always international, just like the peloton itself is international. It's always been important that Procycling achieved a global appeal, and that we would reach people in as many different locations as we could."

Procycling recently signed a three-year deal with ASO, organisers of the Tour de France, to continue producing the English-language Official Guide to the Tour de France.
