The CTCs PR officer and coordinator of the Millennium Festival of Cycling believes media interest in cycling is on the up and up

Profile of cycling set to soar, says CTC

Conrad Haigh cites this mornings BBC Breakfast News as an example of how the media is tuning in to cycling. A feature on cycle insurance appeared on the Business Briefing at 8.40am. There was a round-up of insurance policies and an interview with the CTCs Stuart Reid.

The BBC initiated this story whereas normally its something we have to set up, Haigh told BikeBiz. They approached us and I think this is just the first example of how the media will be featuring cycling this year. Its the year of the bike!

NB

The CTC has taken space at David Hydes Cycle and Leisure Show 2000. The stand will be promoting the Millennium Festival of Cycling due to break in the summer. Well be demonstrating to IBDs that if they get involved with the festival there will be many benefits for them, said Conrad Haigh.
