How long has Pro Vision been in the business?
Pro Vision was established in October 1996. When I retired from professional racing I got involved in the cycle trade with another company and then after a short period of time I decided to start my own business.

What customised kit do you offer?
We offer fully custom cycling clothing to professional teams, clubs and shops. We have manufactured clothing for some large bike brands even though it is not branded Pro Vision. We produce customised clothing for the cycle trade with their own branding and design. Our line here is ‘Your Shop – Your Team – Your Kit. Pro Vision has their own graphics team to help you with those professional designs.

Now we’ve branched out into corporate wear, which is another side to our business. We’re working with a range of customers outside the cycle trade, offering in house embroidery, vinyl graphics and sublimation. We can supply corporate work wear, all in the retailer’s colours and logos. For instance in some bike shops it can be hard to know who is staff and who is a customer so customised clothing is perfect.

And you offer off-the-peg clothing to dealers too?
Yes, we can now offer a semi-custom service for the likes of sponsored charity rides we can apply the logos and then we turn jerseys round in two to three days.

Our new winter collection with jackets, overshoes and the like were one of the best selling products at this year’s cycle show.

Now there’s the new range of Pocket Rocket clothing for children. My nickname as a professional bike rider was ‘’The Pocket Rocket’’ [Joughin is 5ft 3-inches tall] back in 1998 I started the Pocket Rocket Range of clothing, so we are now re launching it. There is a hole in the market for kid’s quality cycling clothing.

But now you’re ramping up your customised clothing offering for shops and other cycle trade firms too?
Yes. We can provide pro line custom cycling clothing to shops at a price where they can actually make a margin on it. We can build a margin into what we offer because we are cutting out the middle men and we’ve invested in machines like the vinyl CAD cutting machine, sublimation printing etc, so we can do the work in-house.

We’ve supplied the likes of Performance Cycles in Cirencester, Brian Rourke Cycles, Fred’s Cycles in Woverhapton and Dirt Wheels in Otley. Cyclescheme and many more shops are now starting their own team and clubs as this helps to create and generate more business for them. This is working very well for many of them and has snowballed for a lot of shops.
