Sustrans will be hosting a fringe meeting at this years Labour Party conference. The subject will be the opening of the National Cycle Network in June 2000. Keynote speakers are Chris Smith, MP, Mike O'Connor, Director of the Millennium Commission, John Grimshaw, Sustrans, and Ben Bradshaw, Chair of the All-party Cycling Group.


Thames Valley Route. This 97 mile route between London and

Oxford will be opening on Monday 18th October at Hampton Court Palace. The Rt Hon Chris Smith, Minister for Culture, Media and Sport will peform the opening ceremony. The route takes in Richmond Park, Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Great Park before heading west towards Maidenhead, Reading, Didcot and Oxford. New look Sustrans Website. On Monday 4th October a revamped

website will go on-line. The site www.sustrans.org.uk is easy to use and packed full of useful information. Highlights of the website include a new on-line shopping facility, regular updates on the progress of the National Cycle Network, and information on the Network in your area.
