The current Index catalogue features this £89 Universal Rampage with its rigid forks pointing in the wrong direction. And this was no hastily taken studio shot, the photographer has taken the bike to a rugged, rocky location and then photographed it.

The mistakenly assembled bike was spotted by Ian Lennox of the Lex Cycle Company of Worthing.

This is a serious safety issue. I have informed Index, writes Lennox in a letter to BikeBiz, adding, This is a lesson [for consumers] to use IBDs [and not catalogues].
