Chris Davison, Vaude’s UK country manager said: “We have been looking for some time to find the best way of distributing into the network of IBDs in the UK.
"One of Raleigh’s many assets is the experience and strength of its sales team. It has the largest sales team in the UK and we feel this means Raleigh are able to provide the level of support and attention that will be the ideal platform to launch the Vaude brand to new accounts across the country."
Present in the UK for over 15 years, Vaude is strong in the outdoor markert and has been steadily developing in the bike trade. The UK forward order book for 2008 is over 60 percent up on 2007, said Davison.
Vaude manufactured bike rucksacks, hydration systems, panniers and saddle bags as well as cycling-specific apparel.
"In a unique arrangement Raleigh will hold stock of key Vaude ranges in the UK for immediate delivery along with other products from Raleigh’s extensive portfolio. All UK accounts will also have access to any product of the huge Vaude collection from their European warehouse via Raleigh," said Davison.
