Cooke rides for the Univega team but rides Raleigh bikes.

Following the repair of a clavicle break sustained on the Manchester track earlier in the year Cooke has been on a winning streak gaining the most UCI points and in the process leapfrogging Susanne Ljungskog, Edita Pucinskaite and Judith Arndt to take the number one ranked position.

So far this year Cooke has won Fleche Wallone, Castilla y Leon and Thuringen Rundfahrt. Cooke now has 955.33 UCI points. Ljungskog has 936.33 points.

Cooke’s carbon fibre bikes are designed by Simon Wild of the Raleigh bike design team and he’s profiled in the 56-page August issue of Bike Biz. Check out this issue for details of one of Wild’s earliest ride partners, now a famous cyclist, then a school friend in Hong Kong...

PS
The pic above shows Cooke with Raleigh’s Phil Rickerby. They are standing beneath the bronze statue of 1950s star-rider, Reg Harris. ‘Reg Rides a Raleigh’ was a well-known marketing phrase of the time. The bronze shorts bear the Raleigh name.
