REVISED: Motorworld does a Halfords and goes for a retail makeover

Motorworld operates 195 high street stores. Another five stores are due to open.

After last year’s MBO from the administrators in charge of the former Finelist plc companies, the Motorworld management had promised an expansion and a revamp.

The Motorworld fascia – red lettering on white board – changes to the graphic treatment shown above.

And the motor accessories and cycle retailer is upping its committment to bikes with a new ‘Outdoor World’ shop-within-a-shop section, a downmarket version of Halfords’ Bikehut ‘arcade format’ treatment.

Many of the Motorworld stores still have Barracudas in stock but Moore Large has not supplied the chain with fresh bikes since the demise of Finelist. Motorworld’s now gets most of its bikes from Concept.
