REVISED: Rockshox.com has a stop sell notice on a number of forks. Only one model the Judy TT - has reached the UK aftermarket and Madison will announce the recall or fettle/reimbursement details soon. PLUS: Icon stem recall

Rockshox ‘stop sell’ notice to be clarified soon

RockShox Inc. posted a stop-sell notice on its website concerning all 2001 Judy TT, Judy TT Special, Jett and Metro suspension forks. Only the Judy TT forks have made to the UK as aftermarket items, although Trek, Specialized and other brands have OE fitted forks that are subject to the ‘stop selling’ order.

The compression rods in the forks can fracture during use, resulting in a loss of control and possible serious injury to the rider, says RockShox.

There have been 23 reported failures of the rods and two minor injuries. RockShox has notified the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) who have to approve recall plans.

Madison is expecting notification of what UK IBDs have to do sometime today or overnight. Details will be posted to this site as soon as we get them.

PLUS:

Trek UK has confirmed that a small number of broken clamp bolts (in fact, just three) in some Icon Havana and Icon Bordeaux road stems means a recall is necessary.

The following 1999 Trek bikes are affected:

2200

2200T WSD

2200T

2300

2300T

2500
