Rouleur to operate independently from Rapha

Rouleur magazine has restructured for 2011, and will now operate independently from majority shareholder Rapha Racing.

Now based in Shoreditch, London, Rouleur Limited will be managed as a pure publishing business.

Bruce Sandell has joined the management team as publishing director and MD. Previously MD of Dennis Publishing’s Lifestyle Division, Sandell has over 20 years experience in men’s media. Sandell joins the board with founder and editorial director Guy Andrews.

MBUK founder and former senior editor at Future Tym Manley has joined to head up the mountain bike side of the business with Privateer Magazine.

Rapha CEO Simon Mottram, said: “In the growing cycling market there is a great opportunity for high quality books and magazines. We think it is now time for the Rouleur business to operate independently of Rapha so that it can focus totally on pursuing those publishing opportunities and I am delighted to welcome Bruce to the Rouleur team.”

The firm has revealed further investment for 2011, including increased pagination on Rouleur magazine, improved production values, subscription marketing and additional commercial staff.

Privateer is now published bi-monthly.
