Staff at Saddleback are today celebrating the firm's 10th anniversary. The company was named for Blencathra, the saddleback-shaped Cumbrian mountain recently put up for sale by the Earl of Lowther (and which may be bought by a community group).

With ten trading weeks left in this financial year, Saddleback has already achieved its annual sales budget and expects to see a sales growth in excess of 40 percent on last year, reports the company. This growth comes on top of 30 percent sales growth in the previous financial year.

"This past decade has seen Saddleback grow from a childhood dream to an established distribution business in the cycle industry and respected partner to some of the world’s leading performance cycling brand," said company co-founder Andy Wigmore.

"We are eternally grateful to the brands and dealers who have supported the company from its beginning to the present day and fully acknowledge that without their commitment things may have worked out very differently.

"Saddleback would be nothing without the quality and commitment of its staff and their truly evident love for cycling."

Saddleback represents brands such as Castelli, Enve and Bont.

Within the next 12 months the company plans to move to a purpose-built 21,000-sq-ft distribution facility and is also revamping its website and B2B site.
