Ralf Bohle, founder of Ralf Bohle GmbH and rubber brand Schwalbe, has passed away aged 75.

With over 50 years in the bicycle industry, Ralf was a bicycle advocate, standards creator and successful businessman.

Frank Bhole, Ralf's son and current managing partner of the Bohle business said of his father: "Everything that constitutes the Bohle Group with the Schwalbe brand today exists due to his efforts, his ideas and his vision.”

Having struck a close relationship with an Asian family in the 70s, who themselves had an interest in the bicycle business, the two co-founded tyre brand Schwalbe, which today claims to be Europe's top-selling bicycle tyre brand.
