Brand supplies bespoke bikes for the holiday villages over the next two years

Schwinn wins Center Parcs contract

Cycling Sports Group (CSG) UK has revealed that Schwinn Bicycles has secured the Center Parcs bike supply contract for 2013 and 2014.

Bespoke Schwinns will be provided for the four Center Parcs villages, with a fifth village due to open in spring 2014 at Woburn Forest in Bedfordshire.

Designed to meet the requirements of CP guests, the Schwinns in question have been tweaked with families in mind, fitted with lights, racks and components chosen for their durability and reliability.

“This is a fantastic partnership for CSG,” said CSG UK’s head of sales Ian Wagman. “The Schwinn brand will build on the previous success that we had with the Mongoose brand at Center Parcs. Schwinn’s heritage perfectly complements Center Parcs’ family values.”

Ann Hatcher, category buyer at Center Parcs, commented: “Cycling is at the very heart of the Center Parcs experience, allowing families to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and spend quality time together outdoors. Choosing the right bicycle brand to make that time as pleasurable as possible for our guests is a decision that cannot be taken lightly. We are delighted to be working with Cycling Sports Group UK again.”

Center Parcs villages all have miles of cycle paths and their guests park up their vehicle during the break, and via the deal Schwinn will be brought to a larger chunk of the holidaying population, cementing Schwinn’s reputation in the recreational cycling field, according to CSG UK. The Schwinn brand has over 115 years of bicycle manufacturing history.
