Fiona McLeod MSP has Twitter-blocked Magnatom.

Scottish cycling campaigner blocked on Twitter by his MSP

UPDATE: Fiona McLeod has now apologised for blocking Magnatom. It was done in error, she said.

Cycling campaigner David Brennan – aka @magnatom – has been blocked on Twitter by Fiona McLeod, the SNP Member of Scottish Parliament for Strathkelvin and Bearsden. Brennan lives in her constituency.

Brennan is noted for posting helmetcam videos of his Glasgow commute on YouTube and is also one of the co-organisers of Pedal on Parliament, a family-friendly show of force that descends on Holyrood once a year. Earlier today he discovered he had been Twitter-blocked by his MSP.

Blocking someone on Twitter means you can be no longer contacted by that person. Brennan said he is unaware of any reasons why he might have been blocked. He has asked his MSP some tough questions recently and has also previously posted robust arguments on his blog but he said he has always remained polite and above board.

Other twitter users have rallied to his side, urging the MSP to reconsider and to listen to one of her constituents.
