Shimano wins iF Product Design Gold Award

Lightweight wind breaker follows up Eurobike 2010 prize
Publish date:

The Shimano Accu3D R wind breaker has won a prestigious Gold Award at the iF Product Design ceremony.

Held at the start of the month at the CeBiT trade fair in Hannover, Germany, Shimano's wind breaker was one of 50 products to receive the award. 1,121 participants from 43 nations were in the running for one of the prizes.

The wind breaker weighs a mere 63 grams and folds down to an extremely compact size for transport in the back pocket of a cycling jersey. Featuring water-repellency and a high tear resistance suitable for intense riding conditions, it is available in black and lime green.

The wind breaker also received a Eurobike Award at the Friedrichshafen show last September.

The iF product design award pitches designs from a number of industries against each other. The awards have been established for almost 60 years.
