Yep. Back in April, BikeBiz.com carried the 90-day weather forecast by the Met Office's Bill Giles. He predicted a long spell of good weather for the UK, and gave a week-by-week breakdown. By and large, he was spot on and the fine weather led to a healthy uplift in UK bike sales. So, what does the rest of the year hold? Click within.

So, did weatherman’s predictions come true for summer 03?

Sadly, there will be no more heat waves this year but Giles predicts a fine end to October.

22 October to 31 October

"This will be a very interesting period of the month as high pressure starts to take hold, giving many places an ‘Indian Summer’."

In April, BikeBiz.com carried a story entitled ‘The weather Gods smile on UK bike trade’, featuring the all-important 90-day forecast from the former BBC weatherman. BikeBiz urged IBDs to order key summer lines quickly because of the fine-weather-ahead predictions. Thankfully, Giles was right. But he’s not a pine-cone watcher, he bases his predictions on computer modelling of future weather patterns and tracks all his predictions against reality in order to fine-tune his methodology.
