Specialized to develop tubeless wheelset

Specialized has announced that it will be working with both Roval rims and Hutchinson tyres to manufacture a tubeless ‘Turbo’ wheelset for ’09.

According to RoadbikeRider, The 127-tpi tyres are due to tip the scales at 290 grams. Minus a tube, the wheels will have a lower rolling resistance. Inflation can also come down to approximately 85 psi for increased comfort with little risk of pinch flats as a result.

Campagnolo are likely to manufacture the Roval tubeless rims and the hubs and spokes should come from DT Swiss. The wheels will be built in Italy
