Storm helps Unilever employees raise £86K in 180 mile charity cycle

Waterproofing and after-care specialist Storm has announced that the cycle team has raised over £86,000 for the Get A-Head charity.

The ‘Miles4Mel’ fundraiser was the third annual cycling challenge, which raises awareness and funds for Get A-Head, a charity trust dedicated to fighting head and neck diseases.

The cycle was completed by 92 colleagues and friends of Mel, an employee at Unilever UK and Ireland, who tragically passed away from Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, a rare form of head and neck cancer, in 2013.

Storm contributed to the team shirts and provided each ‘Miles4Mel’ team member with a sample pack of products, including a wash-in cleaner and proofer and deodorising spray, to help keep them fresh and dry on their challenging journey.

Unilever’s cycle team departed from the Leatherhead offices on the morning of Friday 20th May and arrived in Mel’s hometown of Gilwern on Saturday 21st May.

Donations can still be made to the ‘Miles4Mel’ team via their Just Giving page https://www.justgiving.com/teams/Miles4Mel3
