London, Berlin, New York and Amsterdam among the cities to benefit thus far

Strava Local city guides now live

Strava has today announced a user-generated collection of the most commonly and highest rated running and cycling routes around the world.

Dubbed Strava Local, the city guide service is now available for 12 cities around the world, including London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and New York.

Based on feedback from 38 million rides racked up in the 12 locations, the team at Strava have worked with local experts to analyse and publish the most popular routes and stops.

"We’ve built a series of city guides designed specifically for athletes, by athletes," says Gareth Nettleton, Director of International Marketing at Strava. "Our data shows us the world’s most popular routes, and our community of local influencers curate each guide to provide a rich and full experience, whether you’re new in town or rediscovering your city.

"Every Strava Local Guide includes routes of varying difficulty, in the city of the countryside, as well as our favourtie places to grab a coffee, buy gear or simply pull over and snap a great photo."

One such business set to benefit from the listing on Strava is Esher-based G!RO Coffee. Co-founder Jordan Addison said: "We see that so many of our customers are on Strava, so it’s great that we’re now listed as a Strava Top Stop based on the cycling data gathered."
