A campaign to encourage safer cycling, especially in the darker winter

months, was launched today by Sustrans. The campaign, Be Seen, Be Heard, is launched to coincide with the clocks going back.

Sustrans have developed a Be Seen, Be Heard pack which includes a hi-vis reflective waistcoat, a pair of hi-vis reflective leg bands with Velcro fastening, and a Safe and Sound bell. This is all available mail-order, or via the Sustrans website, for £12.99.

Because this could be considered as taking trade away from bike shops who, naturally, also sell hi-vis stuff this time of year BikeBiz approached Sustrans and asked whether it might not be wise to offer the Sustrans safety packs to IBDs too. A Sustrans spokesperson said this was a good idea and a trade deal will be announced shortly. Watch this space for details.
