Taipei Cycle broadens international reach

Having concluded over the weekend, Taipei Cycle Show organisers have today told BikeBiz that early figures show 11.3 per cent growth in international visitors.

By region, over 50 per cent of visitors came from Asia, with China (including Hong Kong), Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand among the top 10. Nearly a third of overseas visitors travelled from Europe and North America, with United States, Germany, and France among the top 10. Visitors from Australia rose four per cent.

European trade organisation Coliped had already requested for more space in 2014, in order to accommodate growing interest from European exhibitors. 

As reported earlier last week, 1,103 exhibitors filled the 58,000 square metres of exhibition space, with 3,289 booths booked from 36 countries.

Though the 2014 show has been scheduled for March 5th to 8th, again overlapping three days with TaiSPO, to be held March 4-7, the 2015 event could be moving to a summer schedule, according to Giant's Tony Lo. Taitra has stressed the goal for any change to the show would remain on how Taipei Cycle could best serve the global cycling industry.
