A helping hand has been given to South Africa's fledgling cycle industry, with the incorporation of bicycles into a new EU-South Africa trade agreement, which has just been signed. Customs duties on South African cycle exports to the EU will now be abolished in three years. They have already been cut to 75 per cent the current level, next year they will be reduced to half and in two years to 75 per cent, being scrapped altogether in three years.
