Thinking of funding your bike idea via Kickstarter? Here’s some tips

Thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign Carlton Reid’s roads history book has secured funding for a print run. ‘Roads Were Not Built For Cars’ will be published in August. Reid is the executive editor of BikeBiz.

Reid’s funding target for the book was £4000. This was reached within 20 hours of the campaign going live. Pledges for the book carried on arriving, with the final total being £17,407.

For those exploring the crowd-funding route to market – and many bike product start-ups have already done so – Reid has written a blog posting about how to plan and execute a successful Kickstarter campaign.
